Vesugen (also known as KED or Lys-Glu-Asp) is a synthetic tripeptide bioregulator composed of the amino acid sequence lysine-glutamic acid-aspartic acid (Lys-Glu-Asp). It was developed as part of the Khavinson peptide bioregulator program and has been investigated primarily in preclinical studies and limited Russian clinical research involving vascular biology, endothelial physiology, gerontology, and peptide-mediated cellular regulation.

Experimental investigations have examined Vesugen in relation to endothelial cell biology, vascular homeostasis, and proposed mechanisms involving gene expression and chromatin-associated regulation.

Studies from the originating research program suggest that the peptide may influence the expression of genes associated with endothelial function, including pathways related to nitric oxide signalling, endothelin regulation, cellular proliferation, and intercellular communication. However, these proposed molecular mechanisms have not been independently confirmed by international research groups and should be regarded as investigational.

Current research continues to investigate Vesugen’s molecular pharmacology, structure-function relationships, and proposed role in vascular biology and healthy aging.
