Epithalon

Epithalon, sometimes referred to as Epitalon, is a synthetic tetrapeptide modelled after epithalamin, a naturally occurring peptide produced by the pineal gland. A primary area of investigation is Epithalon’s effect on telomerase activity, the enzyme responsible for preserving telomere length. Because telomeres gradually shorten with repeated cell division and are closely linked to aging, researchers have explored whether Epithalon can influence this process. 

Preclinical studies have reported increased telomerase activity in certain cellular models, along with findings of telomerase activation and telomere elongation primarily in vitro (cell culture). Researchers have also examined Epithalon’s relationship with pineal gland function, particularly its role in supporting melatonin production and maintaining healthy circadian rhythms. As a result, the peptide is included in studies focused on sleep regulation, endocrine function, age-related biological changes, and regenerative science.
